Biography

Carl Como was a Durable Tool and Die shop striker in New York. The February 25, 1932 Daily Worker reports that he and another striker had recently been sent to jail on what the labor newspaper characterized as a frame-up charge. Fellow strikers announced a Saturday-night reception in anticipation of their release that Saturday. Actual jail confinement is explicit; planned release is not accomplished discharge. The report gives no exact charge, admission date, nominal term or completed duration. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1932/v09-n048-NY-feb-25-1932-DW-LOC.pdf#page=1
