Biography
Bruce Frederick was an American Servicemen’s Union member among thirty-five soldiers arrested at a Fort Lewis union meeting. The contemporary account quotes him opposing the war and military repression and reports that the arrested men continued their meeting in jail cells. Attorney James Vonasch said the soldiers were held behind bars for three to six hours and then restricted to their company areas. No individual exact duration, calendar arrest day, formal charge or eventual disposition is established. He is not merged with Bruce Frederick Davis, the earlier Soviet defector.
