Biography

Beksas, whose given name is not supplied, was a foreign-born worker confined at the Seattle immigration station for about a year before a forced transfer toward Ellis Island. The July 4 dispatch alleges that officials beat him unconscious after he demanded his clothes and an ILD lawyer and carried him half clothed and barefoot to a train. This is an attributed contemporary account of immigration confinement and transfer, not proof of an executed overseas deportation or an exact one-year measured custody total.
