Biography
Emerson Leroy Daggett was a staff member of the Seattle labor weekly Voice of Action. A King County grand jury indicted Daggett and editor Lowell Wakefield for criminal libel on July 31, 1935 after five American Federation of Labor officials complained about the paper’s reporting during the Northwest lumber strike. The reviewed record establishes an indictment but not an arrest, booking, jail confinement, conviction, or sentence.
