Biography
Thompson recalls an older IWW prospector known as Baldy Stewart actually imprisoned with him in San Quentin during his 1923–1927 confinement. The memoir’s prison-breakfast anecdote individually establishes historical custody, but does not give a legal first name, individual charge, sentence or release. The nickname is retained without inventing a full identity.
