Biography
B. Toboado was arrested in Los Angeles on November 22, 1927, on a criminal-syndicalism accusation for selling El Machete, a Mexican Communist newspaper. Toboado was released on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. Police confiscated citizenship papers, a union card and other membership cards; when Toboado returned to reclaim them, police said they had destroyed the documents. The American Civil Liberties Union demanded their return.
