Biography
Ashleigh Brown is a political activist and community organizer prosecuted in two separate federal cases arising from encounters with immigration-enforcement officers in Los Angeles in 2025. She was arrested on August 2 and charged with misdemeanor assault on a federal officer. That case was dismissed with prejudice on October 28, 2025. In a separate case, she was arrested on September 10 over an August 28 encounter in which she followed an ICE vehicle to an officer’s residential neighborhood and livestreamed there. Her defense maintained that she believed she was following an immigration-enforcement operation and disputed the allegation that she intended to harass the officer or his family. On February 27, 2026, a jury convicted her of cyberstalking and acquitted her of conspiracy to disclose protected personal information. Her September 21 sentencing filing reported two months previously spent in pretrial custody and nearly a year of home confinement. These are different forms of restriction and are not a prison sentence. As of the September 24 docket order, sentencing was scheduled for October 19, 2026, and her post-trial motions had not been resolved in the records reviewed.
