Biography

Anna Lyons led a Los Angeles Young Pioneers group. The June 1 dispatch on page 5 of the Daily Worker, June 3, 1926, reports that Judge Dailey S. Stafford found her not guilty of two misdemeanor charges after an arrest connected with taking children to a May 1 picnic at Sycamore Grove and allegedly inducing allegiance to the Red Workers of the World. Prosecutors discussed a possible new delinquency charge and federal authorities possible deportation. Those threats are not completed proceedings or an executed deportation. May 1 dates the picnic; the report does not fix the arrest day, physical jail endpoints or actual duration.
