Biography
Andrew Wade was a Black Navy veteran and electrician who moved with his family into a segregated white neighborhood near Louisville in 1954. After racist attacks culminated in the bombing of the Wade home, county police arrested Wade on July 22 for allowing a friend onto his property who was not on a police-approved visitor list. He was charged with breach of peace, fined $100, and released on bond. The surviving record does not provide the exact release date.
