Biography

Anani Nazarchuk was born 1892 in Volhynia, Russia (present-day Ukraine or Belarus). Immigrated to the United States in 1913.

Belonged to the Socialist Party in Bristol, Connecticut, and was also accused—on flimsy evidence—of URW membership. Arrested June 1918 for distributing radical literature and again in November 1919 during the first Palmer Raids, he was deported on the Buford on December 21, 1919.
