Biography

Alice Wilson was a young worker arrested in Newark, New Jersey, for distributing leaflets to employees of Ohrbach's department store, urging solidarity with striking employees at its New York store. The Daily Worker of March 4, 1935, page 3, in a Newark March 3 dispatch, individually names Kurt Allen and Alice Wilson and says they were arrested yesterday, March 2, then released on bail pending trial. A March 8 hearing in First District Court was announced; the report supplies no hearing outcome or exact physical release day.
