Biography
Alexandria Demetrius Augustine is a Los Angeles activist and behavioral therapist who was arrested on July 24, 2025, during a protest against federal immigration enforcement outside the Roybal Federal Building. Federal officers alleged that she threw an umbrella frame at an officer. A jury acquitted her of assault on October 10, 2025. A separate charge continued to a bench trial: on August 7, 2026, the court found her guilty of failing to comply with lawful directions on federal property. On September 17, 2026, she was sentenced to time served, crediting five days previously spent in federal custody, and $135 in fines and fees. The court imposed no term of unsupervised probation but ordered her to stay at least 100 feet from the building’s rear parking entrance for six months, except when necessary for personal business there.
Her September 14, 2026 defense sentencing memorandum repeatedly documents five days actually spent at MDC from July 24 through July 28, 2025, using inclusive custody credit. Its requests for time served and no probation, and the government’s proposed fine and restrictions, were party positions before sentencing. The separately recorded September 17 judgment supplies the actual later disposition. Source: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.cacd.983602/gov.uscourts.cacd.983602.159.0.pdf#page=3
