Biography

Albert Hiromaru Matano was a Waianae Japanese American and the son of Konin and Tamako Matano. His individual JCCH record documents March 1945 departure from Hawaii for family reunification, Sharp Park detention that month, Crystal City Family Internment Camp confinement and December 1945 return to Honolulu aboard Shawnee. His own family-confinement entry must not be assigned his father’s December 1941 arrest date. The archive does not establish an individual criminal conviction or exact Crystal City admission and release days. Source: https://incarceration.jcchawaii.org/internees/matano-albert-hiromaru
