Biography
Ahmadzai Abdul Ghafoor served on the security detail of Afghanistan's U.S.-backed president before entering the United States after the Taliban takeover. Immigration authorities detained him on May 30, 2025 under a suspected-terrorist designation, but did not produce evidence supporting that label in court; a federal judge granted habeas relief and ordered his release on May 13, 2026 after nearly a year in custody.
