Biography
Agustin Aguayo was a US Army combat medic who sought release as a conscientious objector and refused a second deployment to Iraq. Amnesty International recognized him as a prisoner of conscience during his imprisonment by the US military.

A contemporaneous Courage to Resist defense leaflet recounts a return to military authorities on September 2, 2006 after going AWOL the day before, followed by flight from Germany and a further surrender at Fort Irwin on September 26. It identifies an October 3 return to Germany and pretrial confinement at Mannheim. The earlier return to his unit does not by itself prove a separate jail admission. Its March 6 court-martial date was still prospective and its seven-year figure was maximum exposure, not the later eight-month sentence.
