Biography
Adrian Wood, 21, was charged with one count of civil disorder in Wilmington, DE. Wood threw a brick through the back window of an occupied Wilmington police cruiser during an evening of protests and looting in the city's downtown area. A later judgment was recorded as time served; the complete actual custody interval is unresolved.
Judge Maryellen Noreika’s July 20, 2021 opinion records Wood’s arrest in Wilmington at about11p.m. on May 30, 2020 and release that same night because of police computer problems. He returned the following day for an FBI interview. State charges followed June 1; the June 8 federal complaint did not include a government request for detention. State charges were dismissed July 8 and the federal grand jury indicted him September 10, 2020. The court denied his selective-prosecution and constitutional challenges in July 2021. That ruling was not a conviction or a new detention order.
