Biography

Abe Rothbaum was a Furniture Workers Industrial Union member whose arrest in Jersey City was reported in May 1934. The May 15 Daily Worker reports that Abe Rothbaum and Max Dreiger had worked at the unionized Junius Parlor Frame Company in Brooklyn, whose employer moved to Jersey City to escape union conditions. It attributes the arrests to the manufacturer’s opposition to their presence in Jersey City. No precise arrest day, statutory charge, outcome or actual release is printed.
