Biography
New Afrikan political prisoner first held at Rikers Island and later in New York State custody under NYSDOCS #89-T-1710. Listed as a North American political prisoner in PFOC Breakthrough magazine during the late 1980s and 1990s. Documented in PFOC Breakthrough magazine.
In July 1987, Abdul Haqq was arrested with Robert Taylor and Arthur Barnes Majid after a traffic stop in Orange County, New York. The Insurgent linked the prosecution to surveillance of the Black Men’s Movement Against Crack. It reported weapons and explosives accusations, an additional assault accusation against Haqq, and a federal felon-in-possession charge. Haqq spent more than two months in preventive detention before winning the right to bail. The report does not establish when he actually left custody.
