Biography

A. H. Floaten was a Socialist active in the Rocky Mountain labor movement. The January 9, 1932 New Leader anniversary notice says agents of Colorado mine owners beat him and forcibly deported him during a Western Federation of Miners struggle. This documents extrajudicial restraint and expulsion connected with labor activism, rather than a federal immigration removal. The retrospective notice gives no precise seizure day, destination, judicial term or duration. His initials are retained without expansion.
