Biography
William Patton was an Industrial Workers of the World member arrested in Minot on August 7, 1930 after arriving from New Rockford with the other two men. William Patton’s signed account, continued on page 3, alleges that Chief John Wagner and another officer beat the men while demanding a confession to throwing a man from a train. They pleaded guilty to vagrancy and received thirty-day terms. The account explicitly describes them still in jail; their actual completed terms and release dates remain unknown.
