Biography

William F. Kelly was a Committee for Industrial Organization organizer and former United Textile Workers official held for a grand jury on December 17, 1936, in connection with the Celanese strike at Cumberland. The paper reports an incitement-to-riot accusation and release on $500 bail, with the grand jury to meet in January. It does not establish a conviction, exact initial arrest day, jail admission or measured detention. Daily Worker, December 18, 1936, page 5.
