Biography

Will Kerling was arrested for trespass at a Montana nuclear-missile silo on October 24, 1983 during the Silence One Silo campaign. He pleaded guilty and was still in Cascade County Jail awaiting a scheduled November 15 sentencing when the contemporary report was written. The co-defendant Nigel Cottier’s release after three days was not Kerling’s release. No final discharge or completed term is printed. The December 16 follow-up confirms sentencing actually occurred November 15, 1983: ninety days for the October 24 Minuteman III silo entry near Conrad, Montana. His later support address is Southwest Multi-County Jail in Dickinson, North Dakota. This later jail location is not a separately invented arrest or admission. January 22, 1984 remains only an expected release; actual discharge and completed service remain unknown.

Contemporary 1983–1984 custody evidence

The February 12 directory affirmatively lists Will Kerling as recently released. It does not print the physical discharge day and does not validate the prior January 22 forecast. This establishes historical out-of-custody status by the report, not a newly guessed exact release or 90 completed days.
