Biography

Webster Brooks was a Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade member in Atlanta. Revolutionary Worker, December 10, 1982, reports that police dragged him and Greg Johnson to jail at Atlanta Junior College in March 1982 after a cafeteria debate over their proclamation challenging the Wayne Williams verdict in the Atlanta child murders. They were convicted of criminal trespass on December 3, 1982; sentencing was still prospective. The same account describes a separate MARTA Five Points arrest a few days later, followed by a summer conviction for obstructing an officer and a six-month sentence pending appeal. It also reports a separate Bowen Homes arrest around May Day 1981 for which the article said he faced six months' probation and a $500 fine. These are distinct proceedings; no completed six-month imprisonment or exact jail discharge is established. Source: https://bannedthought.net/USA/RCP/RW/1982/RW184-English-OCR-sm.pdf#page=11
