Biography
Warren Lamson was a Chicago Unemployed Council secretary and Communist congressional candidate who had earlier organized in the Socialist Party and Industrial Workers of the World. Martin Moriarty's October 27, 1932 Daily Worker interview says Lamson joined the Socialist Party in Lake Charles in 1908, later joined the IWW, faced a criminal-syndicalism indictment arising from an orange-pickers strike near Los Angeles, and helped organize Rock Island Railroad workers in Maryland, Kansas. It reports thirty-five arrests while he was secretary of IWW branches in Los Angeles during the war, with individual jail stays ranging from one day to two months. It does not provide individual dates, a combined custody total or the outcome of the syndicalism indictment.
