Biography

Ward Rogers was a preacher serving with the Southern Tenant Farmers Union. Jamieson reports that he was arrested and jailed at Marked Tree, Arkansas, on an anarchy charge during the early campaign against the union. The charge was subsequently dropped following unfavorable publicity and investigations. The passage places this in the 1934–35 organizing narrative but does not give his exact custody dates or duration.
