Biography
Walter Pogue was an Alabama sharecropper imprisoned during the December 1932 repression of the Share Croppers Union. The December 26 Daily Worker names him among the Dadeville prisoners whom International Labor Defense attorney Frank B. Irwin was permitted to interview after arriving Thursday, December 22. Mrs. E. M. Cooper was denied access, and sheriffs remained present and took notes during the lawyers’ interviews. The account refers to ten prisoners but explicitly lists only nine names. It does not establish his initial arrest, sentence, eventual release or total custody duration. Source: https://www.marxists.org/archive/herndon/1932/dec-26-1932-DW.pdf#page=3
