Biography
W. L. Bennefield was a farmer, a Socialist and a member of the Working Class Union from Oklahoma. W. L. Bennefield was sentenced to ten years in prison. He began his imprisonment in Leavenworth Penitentiary on November 1, 1917. During Bennefield's incarceration his wife and seven children were left destitute.
The March1922 official report lists W. L. Bennefield in List1 of convicted prisoners or parolees. The government entry reports Conspiracy and violating the espionage act, etc. a sentence of November 1, 1917, 10 years Leavenworth.. Imposed terms, projected term-expiration dates, parole eligibility and intervals on bond are different measures; none is entered as a complete actual custody total.
