Biography

Víctor Manuel Gerena was a Wells Fargo guard accused of helping Los Macheteros, the Ejército Popular Boricua, remove about $7 million from the company’s West Hartford depot on September 12, 1983. He disappeared immediately afterward. The FBI placed him on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on May 14, 1984 and removed him on December 14, 2016 after the 32-year listing no longer met its criteria. Gerena has never been apprehended, tried or imprisoned in the case.
