Biography

Vasil Gosheff was arrested with Portland Communist Party unit secretary Lambo Mitseff in September, according to Paul Munter’s February 28, 1931 account of repression in the Northwest. The article places their arrests at the start of linked federal immigration raids and Oregon criminal-syndicalism prosecutions. It does not individually allocate a formal charge or deportation outcome to Gosheff and supplies no final sentence, complete custody duration or actual release. The Behind the Bars directory on printed page 4 lists this prisoner under Multnomah County Jail, Portland, Oregon, with deportation proceedings, 1930; printed V. Gosheff. This is an attributed historical directory entry: the year and nominal term do not establish an intake day, uninterrupted imprisonment, completed service or physical release. The substantive article on PDF page 10 separately names the Portland criminal-syndicalism and deportation defendants and attributes the raids to informer M. R. Bacon. The threatened ten years is potential exposure, not a sentence already imposed.
