Biography

The March 1973 Attica News names Tommie Hicks with Sam Melville and L.D. Barkley as prisoners allegedly seen alive after what witnesses thought were the final shots during the September 13, 1971 retaking. The defense newspaper asserts that some killings occurred afterward, presenting this as an allegation supported by fellow prisoners; this is not treated as an adjudicated execution finding. Hicks was an actual prisoner killed in the Attica retaking context; no original conviction, admission date or complete prior duration is supplied.
