Biography

Tom Forcade was also known as Thomas King Forcade and Kenneth Gary Goodson and oversaw the Underground Press Syndicate and founded High Times. Following the 1972 Miami political conventions, he faced a federal explosives prosecution. Albert Goldman's retrospective describes his confinement in a guarded jail cell; Forcade's later interview dates his acquittal to 1973. The surviving accounts reviewed do not establish exact custody dates or time served.
