Biography
Thomas Sharp was arrested during the July 1934 crackdown surrounding the San Francisco general strike. Police beat him in jail and broke his leg. He was taken to the county hospital, where his leg was put in a cast, then returned to jail. A court subsequently ordered his release.
The report describes police breaking Sharp’s leg in jail, transfer to county hospital for a cast, return to jail and actual court release. The sequence supplies no new exact release day, and a hospital transfer is not itself discharge from police control.
