Biography

Thomas Robertson was the father in the Black Robertson family of Emelle, Alabama, whose defense followed mob attacks in July 1930. The May 13, 1931 paper reports him under a death sentence and seeks commutation before a planned Friday execution. That scheduled date corresponds to May 15 but does not establish that he was executed. The source does not give an exact arrest, physical jail admission or served total. The Civil War prisoner abbreviated Thos. Robertson is a different person. Daily Worker, May 13, 1931, page 3.
