Biography

Thomas Regan was one of eleven people arrested in September 1926 in the Passaic textile-strike bomb prosecution. The January 28, 1927 Paterson dispatch lists him among five still held at Hackensack awaiting trial under $15,000 bail each, while six others had just been sentenced. Bail set is not bail posted; no individual verdict, sentence, final release or measured custody total is supplied. The name follows the original newspaper. The April 1927 trial account records acquittal by the Bergen County jury on March 10, 1927. The May account explicitly says he had already been physically released on property bail before that trial. Acquittal is therefore the verdict date, not his prison-gate discharge day. Exact bail-release day and full custody duration remain unknown.
