Biography
Theodore Hiller was a Socialist from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Theodore Hiller was sentenced to twenty years in prison. He served in Atlanta Penitentiary.
Rhode Island History reports that he and two fellow Rhode Island Socialists were court-martialed at Fort Adams on November 30, 1917 for desertion after refusing the draft, each receiving a twenty-year sentence. Coldwell subsequently protested their treatment at a Providence People’s Forum meeting. The twenty years is an imposed term, not demonstrated actual service.
