Biography
Tess Ryder was a young member of the Young Communist League in Philadelphia. The Daily Worker of April 17, 1931 reports that she and the other named defendant had been tried and convicted for distributing leaflets to National Guardsmen asking them not to shoot workers in another imperialist war. They were awaiting sentence under the Pennsylvania sedition-law campaign. The report does not establish an exact arrest day, sentence, admission, release or time served.
