Biography
A report reprinted from the San Diego Free Press identifies Steve Harris as the man police harassed, beat and arrested at the start of the July 13, 1969 confrontation near Mountain View Park. It places the episode in the Black community’s dispute over police interference with use of the park. The article expressly says his charges were unknown and gives no release endpoint or complete custody duration. Its descriptions of police violence are attributed contemporary allegations.
