Steve Garrett (printed alias El-Kareem) is individually named in the March 1973 Attica News roster of Attica uprising prisoner defendants. The roster links the person to indictment 5, covering 34 first-degree kidnapping counts. The defense newspaper places these prosecutions in the political reprisals after the September 1971 prison uprising. This establishes the Attica-prisoner context; it does not identify the original conviction, precise first admission, final judgment, physical discharge or complete custody duration.
