Sonia Anayibe Rojas
Biography
Anayibe Rojas Valderrama, known as Sonia, was a member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Colombian forces captured her on February 10, 2004, and extradited her to the United States on March 9, 2005. A federal court convicted her on drug-trafficking charges and sentenced her to 200 months. She was held at FMC Carswell, released to immigration custody on August 17, 2018, and deported to Colombia on September 25, 2018.
The July 30 article identifies Anayibe Rojas Valderrama as Sonia, gives United States extradition March 9, 2005 and conviction February 7, 2007, and a sixteen-year-eight-month sentence at Carswell. Its forecast of August 18 release and presumed deportation was prospective. It does not override the existing documented August 17 prison-to-ICE transfer and September 25 deportation, or count foreign capture as American confinement.
