Biography
Sidney Weinbaum was a Caltech scientist convicted in September 1950 of perjury and making false statements after denying Communist Party membership during a security-clearance inquiry. He received four years in federal prison, was denied early parole after refusing to identify political associates, and served three years at McNeil Island before his release in September 1953.
