Biography
Roseanna Robinson was a Black pacifist (a member of Peacemakers) jailed for a year and a day in 1960 for refusing to file income-tax returns because the money would be used 'for military and war purposes.' Carried into court in a wheelchair, she went on a hunger strike and was force-fed at the Alderson federal prison before her release that May.
