Biography
Rod Coronado is a Pascua Yaqui animal-rights and environmental activist associated with the Animal Liberation Front. He pleaded guilty in March 1995 to aiding and abetting the Michigan State University arson and destruction of government property. He received a 57-month federal sentence and $2.5 million restitution on August 11, 1995, and surrendered at Safford on September 11. He was later held at FCI Tucson and released in 1999; the exact release date remains unverified.
A contemporary report describes about three months of pretrial detention following his September 1994 arrest, ending on bail before his later surrender. This was not one continuous custody period from arrest through release.
His later 2010–2011 imprisonment for a supervision violation is recorded separately.

Separate 2006 speech prosecution reported on bail
Page6 distinguishes Coronado’s mountain-lion-hunt prosecution from a new charge concerning a2003 SanDiego speech. It reports a re-arrest and that he had been released on bail to await trial by mid-April2006. This is a lead for a separate speech-related prosecution, not a dated admission or discharge record and not the1995 or2010 confinement episodes already stored. The possible twenty-year penalty is a maximum exposure, not an imposed or served sentence; no new custody period is inferred from it.

The November 1, 1994 Earth First! Journal reports Coronado’s arrest on September 28, 1994 at the Pascua Yaqui reservation and his subsequent pretrial detention in Tucson, with bail denied in early October and again on October 20. The article still treats transfer to Michigan as prospective, so it supplies no completed transfer date or discharge date. This refines the arrest date of the existing Michigan prosecution without merging pretrial custody into his later prison term.
The 2006 roster places Coronado in CCA custody for the mountain-lion-hunt protest and reports an August eight-month sentence plus supervised release.
In a January 5, 2009 statement reprinted in Fire to the Prisons, Coronado’s partner reported his departure from FCI El Reno for a halfway house following his speech-related prosecution. The remaining three months were prospective halfway-house placement, not verified additional closed-prison time.
