Biography

Robert Robbins, a San Francisco picture framer, participated in the CNVA Everyman anti-nuclear voyage. He was imprisoned for contempt in 1962; a letter from his fellow prisoner identifies him among the defendants held at Santa Rita.

In his letter from Santa Rita Jail dated August 22, 1962, fellow prisoner Walt Chaffee reported that Bob Robbins remained in solitary confinement for noncooperation. This is Chaffee’s contemporary account of conditions during the existing 1962 case, not evidence of a separate custody episode.
