Biography
Robert Norbert Galvan was born in Mexico and brought to the United States at age six in 1918. He lived in San Diego with his American-born wife and children and worked for the Van Camp Sea Food Company. Immigration officials ordered him deported for past Communist Party membership, and the Supreme Court upheld the order in 1954. The reviewed record establishes a civil deportation proceeding but no arrest or confinement.
