Biography
Richard Lee Haley was a civil-rights worker arrested in Jackson, Mississippi, on July 19, 1961 while picketing the Heidelberg Hotel during the Southern Governors Conference. His Jackson Police Department identification photograph establishes that he was booked into custody. The surviving catalog has a date discrepancy on the booking placard and does not establish his release date, charge disposition or total time confined.
