Biography

Ricardo Aldape Guerra was a Mexican-born worker sentenced to death in the prosecution over the July 13, 1982 killing of a Houston police officer. The June 1992 Militant called it a racist frame-up, alleging coached identifications, withheld witness evidence and anti-immigrant appeals. These are the newspaper and defense campaign’s allegations. It reports that the court postponed his scheduled May 12 execution at a May 11, 1992 hearing while considering a new-trial motion. This is a stay, not an acquittal or release; the source does not establish a final custody duration.
