Biography

Raymond Demers was individually named among six Mustard Seed Catholic Worker House participants arrested for trespass at the GTE-Sylvania plant in Westboro, Massachusetts, on Good Friday, April 9, 1982. The report says everyone except Louis Doughton refused bond and was held for the weekend; those held, including Raymond Demers, were released on their own recognizance on Monday, April 12. This is three elapsed calendar days, not a later sentence. A May 11 trial was still prospective in this report, and no conviction or later prison term is inferred.

Sources and limits

National No-Nukes Prison Support Collective newsletter No. 11, April 15, 1982, original page 4.

The report individually names the participant and supplies direct physical custody in a politically motivated anti-nuclear protest. No race, gender, exact vital dates, later prison term or present-day custody status is inferred.
