Biography

Ray Malak was a veteran and a defendant in the Buffalo Nine antiwar sanctuary prosecution. Bruce Beyer’s first-person retrospective identifies Malak and Yates as defendants who refused to stand when Judge John Henderson entered the courtroom. Beyer states that both were immediately taken to jail for contempt with thirty-day terms. This establishes actual jail confinement and the nominal contempt term; it does not independently establish completion of all thirty days or exact admission and release dates.
