Biography
Chicano activist known for organizing for the rights of Mexican people in Texas' Rio Grande Valley, arrested on what The Black Panther Vol. 15 no.2 (1976) calls false gun-smuggling charges and detained at the Topo Chico prison in Mexico, seen as a joint U.S.-Mexican effort to entrap him.
The Black Panther (April 24, 1976, p. 10) identified his support organization as the Ramon Raul Chacon Defense Committee, supporting the fuller name Ramon Raul Chacon. It reported that he was denied visits from his wife and children and was seeking a Mexican defense attorney.
