Biography

R. Westmoreland was an Evansville, Indiana, worker employed at the Servel Company. A hostile notice in the Daily Worker of April 11, 1934, page 4, nevertheless records that he had been a Communist Party member and had been arrested in connection with an unemployed delegation more than a year earlier. It reports that Servel initially fired and later rehired him. The notice supplies no full first name, formal charge, exact arrest date or custody duration. Its accusation about his subsequent conduct is not adopted as an established fact. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1934/v11-n087-apr-11-1934-DW-LOC.pdf
